But when Maria Theresa ((the only female Hapsburg ruler) received this estate as a wedding gift, she completely rebuilt it so it became one of the most resplendent Baroque palaces in Europe. The grandeur of this place can be seen in all of its 1441 rooms that visitors can tour along with the extensive gardens that stretch for over a kilometer. For the best views of the gardens and the palace, it is recommended to go to the hilltop gloriette.
