About Buchlovice Castle
Being built as a copy of an Italian villa in Baroque style, Buchlovice Castle is considered as one of the most prominent noble seats in the Czech Republic. The complex includes two separate buildings, the ceremonial Lower Chateau, and the Upper Chateau used for service purposes. Visitors of Buchlovice Castle can explore the rooms and chambers with their rich stucco and elaborately painted ceilings. The surrounding gardens were originally designed in Italian style but in the first half of the 19th century the garden was expanded and remodeled in new, English design with interesting species of trees, peacocks, streams and bridges.
