About Bedzin
Bedzin Castle represents an excellent example of local medieval architecture and it’s nicely restored, especially the interiors. The castle has also significant historical importance. It was originally a wooden castle with stone foundations dating back to the 10th century but it was burned by the Mongols in 1241 and again rebuilt in the 14th century by Casimir the Great. Since 1956 the castle is used as a museum that has several fascinating collections of weapons from the medieval period to World War II and an exhibition about history of Bedzin Castle and Bedzin region.
