About Chur
With the history of more than 5000 years, Chur is the oldest town in Switzerland. Its well preserved Old Town showcasing traditional Swiss architecture, beautiful squares and cobbled streets, best reflects this long history which included different rulers –the Romans, Ostrogoths, Francs, Magyars, Saracens, and the Holy Roman Empire. The symbol of the city is its Cathedral with somewhat simple exterior but most impressive interiors. Some parts of Chur’s Cathedral are from the 5th century but most of the structure dates to the 12th century. In the center you’ll find the Bundner Kunstmuseum with impressive collection of artworks.
