When visiting this... caves there’s no need to dress warmly as there is a permanent comfortable all-year-round temperature of 14°C. The caves are filled with magnificent ornamentation – aragonite, raft stalagmites and sinter spherical coating. Visitors can also marvel the spectacular gas “lakes” of carbon dioxide that are located in the bottom levels of the caves. The constructions in the museum are mostly originals brought in from different locations in Orava and replicas are made for those which could not be bought or transported here. Orava Village Museum is open to visitors year round and the museum regularly organizes various interesting programs during summer and winter.
