The ruins of Mesocco Castle cover the entire top of a small mountain with its irregular pentagon walls. These walls proved unassailable as there were... many attempts to seize the castle in the past, but it was never conquered. The walls connect 5 towers and inside are the remains of the Church of St. Carpoforo. There is another church below the castle, the Church of Santa Maria al Castello, which was first mentioned in the 13th century. It is adorned with well-preserved Late Romanesque frescoes from the workshop of Seregnesi.
