The Sokol Tower, whose history goes back to the Copper Age, around 2300 BC, is an ancient fort located high on rocks above the village... of Dunava in Konavle. Among archaeological artifacts discovered here are some valuable items like amber and glass decorative items from the Bronze and Iron Age or weapons from the Illyrian period. The fort gained its current appearance during the age of the Dubrovnik Republic, which purchased it in 1419, but was abandoned at the beginning of the 18th century. In 2013, the amazing tower once again opened its doors after 350 years; therefore today visitors can explore the museum’s collection of medieval weapons, including 6 original canons. Risan Mosaic

As the oldest Illyrian city in the bay of Kotor, Risan only developed further when falling under the Roman thumb. Their naval and military preoccupation... provided the city with prosperous opportunities and riches. Even though few, its citizens built many lush manors. Early years of the previous century provided us with rediscovered foundations and the city being listed as a cultural monument. While the walls may have disappeared, the magnificent mosaics still stand to this day, accompanied with floors of geometric patterns and a bedroom with a rare depiction of Hypnos, the Greek god of sleep.
