Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is Poland’s first pilgrimage park established at the beginning of the 17th century. A series of over 40 Baroque churches and chapels, dedicated... to the Passion of Jesus Christ and the life of the Virgin Mary, are built in a beautiful natural landscape. The creator of this outstanding sanctuary was Mikołaj Zebrzydowski, the Voivode of Kraków, who had the idea to create a copy of Jerusalem. The central point is point is the marvelous Baroque St. Mary's Basilica. The site is not interesting only for pilgrims because its values well exceed religious significance with the richness and variety of architectural designs and the unison between nature and man-made wonders.

This interesting open-air museum consists of a vast exhibition of historic steam, diesel and electric locomotives, snow ploughs and rail-mounted cranes with informative panels explaining... important facts. The Wieliczka Salt Mine is the only site in the world where mining has been continued since the Middle Ages and as such it represents the embodiment of technological human progress.
