Sazava Monastery had a very dynamic history, being continuously destroyed and reconstructed. It was originally built in the 11th century, but during the Hussite War... in 15th century it was burnt down. Revived again in 16th century and rebuilt in the Baroque style in 17th century, it was eventually closed down by Emperor Josef II.
