Although it’s not as famous tourist destination as Paris or Rome, Zagreb has its charm that will win you over. The increasing number of visitors... each year verifies this. You will want to slow down in Zagreb. Adjust your pace to city’s laid back life. Walk the streets of its Upper Town with historical monuments and medieval architecture, explore the charming markets, learn about its culture and history in numerous museums (did you know that Zagreb has more museums per square foot than any other city in the world?) or even enjoy a show in one of more than 20 theaters. One thing is sure, take your time in Zagreb and you won’t be disappointed.

Ljubljana is a worthwhile shorter or longer stop on any trip through Slovenia. If you have limited time in Ljubljana and just want to feel... the vibe of the place, take a walk in the Old Town and enjoy the amazing architecture and various little shops along the way. If, on the other hand, you have some time to spare do explore the city more thoroughly as it offers an abundance of theaters, museums, and galleries; walk along the River Ljubljanica Canal; take Funicular to Ljubljana Castle and relax in the Tivoli Park. Or any other park for that matter because, don’t forget, - Ljubljana was awarded the “Green Capital of Europe” in 2016.

Besides roaming the grounds of this big stronghold covering an area of 5600 square meters, visitors can also visit the museum tower. Upon exploring the castle, visitors can visit the charming town of Tesanj that has other cultural and historical monuments like Frehadija mosque, built in 1564 and Sahat kula, built in 17th century and one of the only 4 remaining clock towers in Bosnia and Herzegovina that still work.

Vranduk was built in the Middle Ages on a rock above the gorge and overlooking the Bosnia River. It was an occasional seat of Bosnian... kings. The fortress has mostly retained its original shape apart from the mosque which was built in the 15th century, after the Turks conquered the city. Vranduk provides an authentic insight in Bosnian history especially through the artifacts kept in the museum set up in the great tower.

Fortress of Doboj
Bosnia and Herzegovina

This large stone structure was built in the early 13th century and from then it had a very turbulent history. First it had a very... important role in defending the town from the Hungarians, but afterwards the castle was conquered by the Turks and finally the Austrians burnt the castle down on two occasions - in 1697 and again in 1717. The castle is today completely open to the public and offers some great 360 degrees views of the city.
