Its five different sections represent Orava’s regions – Lower Orava with large and pretentious structures around the Market Place; Mill features a water mill, sawmill and fulling mill; Zamagurie Region has houses and farmsteads of rich and medium rich farmers; Goral Settlement represents the poorest part of Orava and Zabrez is characterized by the 15th century, Late-Gothic wooden church. The constructions in the museum are mostly originals brought in from different locations in Orava and replicas are made for those which could not be bought or transported here. Orava Village Museum is open to visitors year round and the museum regularly organizes various interesting programs during summer and winter.

Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is Poland’s first pilgrimage park established at the beginning of the 17th century. A series of over 40 Baroque churches and chapels, dedicated... to the Passion of Jesus Christ and the life of the Virgin Mary, are built in a beautiful natural landscape. The creator of this outstanding sanctuary was Mikołaj Zebrzydowski, the Voivode of Kraków, who had the idea to create a copy of Jerusalem. The central point is point is the marvelous Baroque St. Mary's Basilica. The site is not interesting only for pilgrims because its values well exceed religious significance with the richness and variety of architectural designs and the unison between nature and man-made wonders.

Orava Castle was initially built in 1241 but continuously rebuilt in the next few... centuries and finally in 1611 got its current appearance. Visitors discover the castle history while touring through many rooms that feature armor, artwork and antiques of the period. But what sets this castle apart from many other medieval castles is the live performance by local actors dressed in period costumes that dance, sing and act in order to fully revive the atmosphere of the 17th century. There is a bit of an effort to get the most stunning views of the village below and the imposing Tatra Mountains as there are approximately 500 stairs to the top of the castle tower.
