Known as one of the few preserved water castles, Silov is equipped with an ingenious system that could flood the area surrounding the castle with... water without harming the building itself. This peculiar security system was designed by the castle’s owner, Puta Svihovsky of Ryzmberk who, allegedly, was a very cruel man obsessed with wealth and terrified that someone would steal his treasures. Due to this unique feature, the castle can be seen surrounded by dry land or water, just like sitting in the middle of a lake. Silov castle is often used as a filming location for movies about medieval times.

Braunau am Inn is mostly renowned for two things: for the house where Hitler was born and for the Church of St. Stephan. Austrian authorities... have decided to transform Hitler’s birth house into a museum called “House of Responsibility”, dedicated to his crimes against humanity committed during the WWII. The Stadtpfarrkirche St. Stephan church is decorated in works of art that date back to the 15th century when the church was built. Of special significance is the amazing Gothic ceiling.
