Germany

Berchtesgaden Eagles Nest is one of the most interesting remnants from WWII in Germany. It was Hitler’s mountain retreat, a present for his 50th birthday... given to him by the Nazi Party. This chalet stands high above the town, perched on a sheer rock and when weather permits the views of Berchtesgaden area, including the Konigssee and Salzburg surroundings, are incredible. This historic building is a reminder of one man’s crimes against humanity. The only way to access the Eagle’s Nest is via bus and don’t forget that it is open only in summer, from mid May to October, but please check their opening hours at: http://www.berchtesgaden.de/en/eagles-nest

But the most exciting part that will most certainly thrill any visitor is the historic Falconry Center with daily bird of prey flying show and the first Austrian Falconry Museum.
