The Sokol Tower, whose history goes back to the Copper Age, around 2300 BC, is an ancient fort located high on rocks above the village... of Dunava in Konavle. Among archaeological artifacts discovered here are some valuable items like amber and glass decorative items from the Bronze and Iron Age or weapons from the Illyrian period. The fort gained its current appearance during the age of the Dubrovnik Republic, which purchased it in 1419, but was abandoned at the beginning of the 18th century. In 2013, the amazing tower once again opened its doors after 350 years; therefore today visitors can explore the museum’s collection of medieval weapons, including 6 original canons. Stupendous views of Konavle landscapes are awaiting visitors as well.
