Roman Catholic Temple in Ofoldeak
Hungary

60 min

First recorded in the late middle ages, the church’s central part was finished much later in the time of the Renaissance. With it being envisioned... as a Gothic mausoleum, the temple had to be rebuilt due to its unfortunate destruction during the 16th century. A good portion of the original protective wall still stands to this day, along with a bell tower with an impressive height of 23 meters. In the turn of the last century extensive restoration and window glass redesigning by Andras Szillagyi took place, providing the visitors with a unique insight into the rich history it has endured.

Helikon Castle is the third biggest castle in Hungary and it functions as a museum and an events center wherein its beautiful gallery is used... as the venue of famous concerts while during the summer, open-air concerts are held in its park. The museum houses few exhibitions - a coach exhibition, a historical model railway exhibition, and a hunting exhibition. But the castle’s crown jewel is its library holding over 100,000 books. The surrounding nature reserve park is just as thrilling as the castle’s interiors with an array of fountains, statues, flowerbeds and a garden pond. The palace was constructed in 1745 and reconstructed several times.

Kecskemet
Hungary

105 min

Kecskemet is primarily associated with agricultural wealth that is reflected in abundant vineyards and orchards that outline the city. But it’s actually the Art Nouveau... architecture and Secessionist structures that give this city so much character -the striking sandy pink City Hall combines Art Nouveau and Romantic styles and the Cifra Palota, or Ornamental Palace, housing the Kecskemet Gallery, is one of the finest examples of Hungarian secessionist architecture. There are several great opportunities hiking in the hills, or visiting one of the region’s many horse farms. Don’t forget to try the apricot brandy, for which Kecskemet is well famous.
