Brunszvik family and Ludwig van Beethoven was a close friend of the family and gave piano lessons to Brunsvik girls, thus spent considerable time there. That’s why today, within the Brunszvik manor house you will find a small Beethoven museum where you can explore some period musical instruments, music sheets and information on the Brunszvik family relationship with the composer. The extensive landscape park around the castle boasts of various trees such as white cypress, ginkgo, maple and plane trees but also a small pond and an island with an open-air stage where concerts dedicated to Beethoven are held.
