Places you can visit along the way

Quality photo of Arboretum Trsteno - Croatia

Arboretum Trsteno
Croatia

90 min

Arboretum is the ideal place to reflect and relax. This protected natural monument has existed almost incessantly from the late 15th century. The only two... times when this serenity was almost destroyed was in 1991 during the attacks of the Yugoslav People's Army which, unfortunately, destroyed a large part of it and in 2000 in a forest fire when Arboretum again was severely damaged. However, today Arboretum is mostly restored and opened for visitors so don’t miss to take a walk around the oldest renaissance garden in Dalmatia.

Quality photo of Makarska - Croatia

Makarska
Croatia

105 min

Makarska is a favorite tourist destination for both, Croatians and foreigners. This is the reason why it can get quite busy in summer, but that... is also the reason why Makarska has a vibrant scene of restaurants and cafes, lots of shops and sites to see. The town residents are mostly proud of their many beautiful pebble beaches with pine trees and crystal blue waters. The most intriguing site in town is the Franciscan monastery that hosts an exquisite contemporary mosaic and a delicate shell museum which claims to have the largest collection of snails, shells and mussels in the world.

Quality photo of Ston - Croatia

Ston
Croatia

75 min

Did you know that the longest fortress walls in Europe and the second longest in the world after the Great Wall of China, are located... in Croatia? The walls of Stone were built in the 15th century and covered a total length of 7 kilometers, had 3 fortresses and 40 towers. This was the main defensive structures against Turkish attacks so the town was indeed impregnable from the side of the shore. Much of this can still be seen today, and the renovated part of the wall between Ston and Mali Ston can be walked in its entirety. There are some very steep sections but you will be awarded with some spectacular views from the top. Another reward waiting for you are the locally farmed oysters for which Ston is mostly renowned among Croatians.

Quality photo of Kravica Falls - Bosnia and Herzegovina

Kravica Falls
Bosnia and Herzegovina

75 min

A truly amazing work of nature, free to enter and visitors are also free to swim in the refreshing water … what more one can... ask for? The Kravice Falls is a large lake surrounded by 25 meters waterfalls forming a stunning natural rarity. Although the water temperature is quite chilly, in the heat of the summer many find swimming in the lake the best way to cool down. There is a cafe on spot and a boardwalk around the lake.
