Extending to more than 42 km deep into the mountain... the cave is full of tall and impressive stalagmite collections and the biggest attraction is a monumental 25 meter tall ice formation called the Great Ice Embankment. Ice palaces of surreal beauty, passageways and galleries all bear evocative names like “Diamond Kingdom” or “Ice Palace”. The glacial lake Bled is often ranked among the top 10 most beautiful lakes in the world, and certainly one of the most divine tourist... attractions in Slovenia. Its emerald-green waters, the high peaks of the Julian Alps in the background, and the tiny island with the 17th century Baroque church and a small museum in the middle of the lake, look as if stolen from a fairy tale picture. The island can be reached in traditional wooden boats – pletnas, operated by standing rowers. The lake is warmed by mild thermal springs for which swimming is possible even in autumn. Walking trail around the lake is 6 kilometers long and can be completed in an hour but if you have time to spear, do visit the Bled Castle from where you will have the most beautiful view of the lake. The castle houses a museum, a wine cellar, a castle smithy, and a restaurant.

The Hohenwerfen castle is located just a short drive away from Salzburg. A fortified castle, built around the end of the 11th century, stands high... on a steep peek, allowing spectacular views of the surrounding valley. Being located atop a hill, it can be reached on foot (approximately a 20 minutes’ walk) or by funicular. The castle has something for everyone – from different tours of the fortress, to a weapons exhibition, or a nice meal in castle tavern and a visit to the medieval shop. But the most exciting part that will most certainly thrill any visitor is the historic Falconry Center with daily bird of prey flying show and the first Austrian Falconry Museum. This legendary fortress was also utilized as filming location for the classic Hollywood movie Where Eagles Dare starring Clint Eastwood.
