The island can be reached in traditional wooden boats – pletnas, operated by standing rowers. The lake is warmed by mild thermal springs for which swimming is possible even in autumn. Walking trail around the lake is 6 kilometers long and can be completed in an hour but if you have time to spear, do visit the Bled Castle from where you will have the most beautiful view of the lake. The castle houses a museum, a wine cellar, a castle smithy, and a restaurant.
