About Gradacac Castle
Gradacac Castle is located at the focal point of the Gradacac town. The fortress, with its 18-meter high walls was built between 1765 and 1821, while the 22 meter tall watchtower was added in 1824 by Husein Kapetan Gradascevic, also known as the “Dragon of Bosnia”. He was one of the leaders for Bosnia’s independence from Ottoman Empire; therefore this fort has a great historic importance for Bosnian people.
