About Kost Castle
Unlike most castles in Bohemia, which are located on hills, the Kost Castle stands on a low promontory, hidden in the tick forest. Apparently, the castle got its name from the fact that the walls of this well-preserved medieval chateau are as hard as bone (kost means “bone” in Czech). To visit the castle interiors, visitors may choose from two different tours – the one focused on the main interiors and the history of the Kinsky family (the owners who founded the castle and still own it) and the other which reveals torture devices, weapons and the White Tower.
