About Augsburg
Founded by the stepchildren of Roman emperor Augustus over 2000 years ago, Augsburg is one of the oldest cities in Germany. Some of the most famous sites to visit in the city include the Fuggerei, the world's oldest social housing project which is open to visitors; the Augsburger Puppenkiste, renowned puppet theater founded more than 100 years ago; Augsburg Cathedral with the oldest stained glass windows in Germany; and the Golden Hall within the City Hall. The last one is certainly not the least, on the contrary – you will be truly amazed, so be sure to take your camera.
