Except for its previous name, Acelum, the Roman influence on the town can also be seen in the form of their marvelous architecture lying about. Today, a simple medieval cathedral is placed in the heart of the city, enriching it with its many artistic masterpieces, most notably ‘Assumption’ by Lorenzo Lotto. Besides religious works and contemporary villas, visitors can also enjoy the regional museum, one of English poet’s Robert Browning’s homes and the cherry on top – Rocca Di Asolo, a 13th century castle with a look as sensational as its history.
