About Grumello Castle
Due to its strategic position, Grumello Castle was built as a military fortress around the year 1000. What survived from the original medieval structure are the tower, back gate, Knights' Hall, and a cellar. Grumello is a rare example of a “twin” castle, composed of two separate buildings, one military and one residential, surrounded by walls. Since 1953 the castle belongs to the Reschigna Kettlitz family of Milan, who has stimulated the wine tradition of this area with the production of high quality wines.
