About Royal Palace of Racconigi
Italy remained under the control of royal families until 1946 when the monarchy was abolished through referendum. There are several principal royal buildings in Italy and the Royal Castle of Racconigi is one of them. In 1904 Umberto II, the last king of Italy was born here and he founded in it a family gallery consisting of 3000 paintings and historical documents. Visitors are free to walk in the grand park designed in the 17th century or take the guided tour in Italian to visit the interior of the palace.
