About Spoleto Cathedral
Spoleto Cathedral, dating from the 12th century, features a lovely Romanesque facade, which is made up of stone blocks and bordered by an impressive bell tower. The cathedral is located in a stupendous location, at the bottom of the outstanding Duomo Square, surrounded by beautiful palaces and the small Theater Caio Melisso. The interior, made up of three naves on columns, contains numerous medieval and Renaissance artifacts, the most important being the magnificent frescoes by Fra Filippo Lippi depicting scenes from the Life of the Virgin on cathedral’s apse.
