About Inowlodz Royal Castle
Inowlodz Royal Castle was originally built by Casmir the Great in the 14th century as a watchtower used to protect the trade routes leading to Torun. Later in the early 16th century the castle was further expanded. It has a rectangular plan with two octagonal corner towers. Up until recently, Inwoldz Castle was just a ruin but, thanks to the efforts of locals, it was revitalized so visitors today can explore certain reconstructed areas. Visitors also find themselves enchanted by the beautiful views of the surrounding nature and the 11th century Church of Saint Giles.
