About Steiff Museum
Margarete Steiff, after starting a small business of selling handmade home goods, focused her efforts on making children’s toys which proved to be a rather success. Soon after, her nephew Richard designed a new product – a bear with plush which thanks to President Roosevelt became well-known as the infamous ‘Teddy bear’. The Steiff museum now holds more than 2000 Steiff toys and is a true tribute to its rich history as well as the world’s largest plush petting zoo.
