About Basilica of the Holy House

According to the historical researches and archaeological evidence, the walls of Virgin Mary’s house, where she was born and brought up and received the Annunciation, were brought by the sea from Nazareth to Loreto. While the Holy House itself is quite small, the basilica that encases it is an architectural masterpiece from every angle. The astonishing marble cladding is Donato Bramante’s work and the paintings inside date back to the 14th century.
