About Glorenza
Glorenza was severely damaged in 1499, during the Battle of Calva, but thanks to the Emperor Maximilian I it was completely rebuilt including its protecting walls. These 10 meters high walls are protecting the village and creating an evocative medieval ambiance. With approximately 850 inhabitants, Glorenza is the smallest city in the Italian Tirol, but is full of historic buildings, arcades and walkways, and when walking through the village, one gets a feeling of immersing in living past and returning to Middle Ages. It is a quaint, peaceful village surrounded by majestic mountains and scenic countryside.
