About Tarnow
Bearing the nickname “Pearl of the Polish Renaissance” the town of Tarnow exudes many cultural and architectural charms. It is a town of long history that is best reflected in a well-preserved medieval Old Town that features the celebrated Gothic Cathedral, a scenic market square, and the beautiful Town Hall. The eastern part of the Old Town was traditionally the Jewish district. However, because of the WWII the Jewish community does not exist anymore in Tarnow, although once this population made up nearly half the city. There are also some points of interest outside the immediate town center like the Old Jewish Cemetery and two Gothic wooden churches.
