About Jasovska Cave
The tour of the amazing Jasovska Cave is approximately 45 minutes long, covering a path of 720 meters full of passages and crevices. During the tour visitors discover remarkable rocky shapes rich in forms and colors. The cave is an important wintering place for bats so don’t be surprised by the number of bats you will encounter here, one part of the cave is even called Bat Cathedral! During the Middle Ages the locals used it as shelter from the Tartar or Turkish attacks, so the highlight of the tour are the inscriptions dating as far back as the 15th century. Being open to public from the mid 19th century, Jasovska Cave is the oldest publicly accessible cave in Slovakia.
