About Lodz
During its rich history, Lodz has had some severe ups and downs, but luckily it managed to raise above all difficulties and today it is the city that enchants both its residents and visitors. In 20th century, with the birth of textile industry, Lodz became one of Poland’s largest cities. But then Great Depression happened, and city experienced catastrophic decline. Furthermore, the WWII happened with all its horrors. But the city survived. And just before becoming a sad and dreadful city, some artists brought street art to the grey facades and empty walls. And a number of other impressive urban regeneration projects have given the city a new zeal. The city is definitely worth more thorough exploration.
