About Vrsar
Overlooking the sea from a hill, Vrsar is an enchanting old fishing settlement offering its visitors a captivating glimpse to the past times. It is enough just to walk through the old town inside the fortified walls and testify the great historical heritage – from the 13th century town’s gate that is still in use, to the remains of a 4th century basilica or the 12th century Romanesque basilica of St. Mary. In close vicinity of Vrsar there is another attraction to be seen: the sculpture park of the world renowned artist Dusan Dzamonja. The monumental abstract sculptures are placed in the natural background of Dzamonja's house and studio where he lived and worked for most of his life.
