About Pszczyna Castle
Achingly beautiful Pszczyna Castle is the result of many refined reconstructions during the course of centuries. It started as a 13th century Gothic castle; it was rebuilt in Renaissance style in 17th century, in Baroque style in 18th century and finally in 19th century it became a Classicist style palace. Once in a while, the German Emperor William II used to reside in this palace during the WWI and his “Royal apartments” are fully fitted with restored original furniture. Besides his rooms, visitors can also explore the apartments of Princess Daisy, English lady who married Polish Prince Hans Heinrich XV, and who lived here from 1891 to 1943. In the lower level of the castle is a great collection of armory.
