Holasovice is a hamlet of outstanding value because it is a great example of well preserved traditional rural settlement in central Europe and it is surely the most charming village in the whole of the Czech Republic. Despite the fact it was at one point completely abandoned, the village has retained the same number of buildings during the 800 years of its existence. The village features 17 farms with barns and stables, a blacksmith’s, two taverns and the small Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk. Holasovice has 140 inhabitants that are proud of their unspoiled village and are happy to show visitors what rural life was like until the 1st half of the 20th century. If you are searching for some special photo opportunities, the village also has a Stonehenge replica built form local stones.
